For MainEvent 2004 I decided to design
a graphically elaborate and eye-catching website for the Global Conversationalists.
Traditionally, WF360 posts their speaker photographs and bios as a long
list on a single page. For 2004 I wanted to feature the speakers with
larger photos on individual pages where their titles and biographical
information could be given more space and attention through additional
layout work and graphic design.

By locking the design down within a specific window size and using DHTML
tags I was able to employ a more graphically intensive approach to the
page layouts. Each speaker is featured in an open book design which
was originally conceived as a "virtual passport". Although
the passport idea was dropped in the final version, the visual elements
of the book pages work as an effective way to frame the content. The
rotating globe was an additional flash media element that helped to
keep the pages from becoming overly static.
